LayerZero Power Systems Releases Series 70 ePODs™: Type-P To Manufacture
Chagrin Falls, Ohio (May 14, 2007) LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. has upgraded the ePODs™: Type-P product line to include additional safety features, with a focus on compliance with NFPA 70e regulations. A major addition to the Series 70 ePODs™: Type-P are InSight™ IR Portholes, a technology that utilizes a protective mesh to keep the risks of arc flash away from operators, while allowing all bolted connections to be scanned without opening the front doors of the unit.
Also added is the SafePanel™, a IP-20 rated finger-safe breaker panel board with recessed, touch safe receptacles. Breakers are safely installed with little risk to the operator because the contact is fully closed before a connection is made. The breakers have a lockout safety feature to eliminate the possibility of the creation of an arc during removal utilizing a mechanical switch that prevents breakers from being removed energized.
LayerZero ePODs allow for sub-feed current monitoring, and have a built-in web server to allow this information to be easily accessed over a network. Alarm information can accessed over MODBUS/TCP, a standard web browser, or through dry contacts. ePODs are NTP (Network Time Protocol) compliant, to allow for units to be synchronized to a centralized server. LayerZero ePODs utilizes open protocols, with no proprietary limitations on how data generated from the units is shared.
