LayerZero Power Systems Introduces the eOSI Model

Chagrin Falls, Ohio -

LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. has introduced the Extended Open System Interconnection (eOSI) model, an updated version of the OSI model. The eOSI Model is an abstract model that describes the architecture of data communications for networked computers. It is a conceptual framework consisting of logical layers that build upon each other, allowing data center professionals to effectively identify and resolve individual problems.

The eOSI Model consists of eight individual layers: User, Application, Presentation, Session, Transport, Network, Data, Physical, and Foundation. The eOSI Model includes the addition of the Foundation Layer, reflecting the importance of power reliability in data centers. The Foundation Layer (Layer 0) components include Static Transfer Switches, Power Distribution Units, and Remote Power Panels.

The Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model was first developed by the International Organization for Standardization in 1977 and has remained unchanged. To address the challenge of effectively managing data centers in a rapidly evolving environment, the updated eOSI Model focuses on power reliability within the data center infrastructure. The Foundation Layer serves as the base layer in the eOSI Model, as all components of the Physical Layer ultimately depend on reliable power.

Layer 0, the Foundation Layer of the eOSI reference model, comprises a reliable, safe, information-centric, and highly connected set of power distribution products and processes. The introduction of the eOSI Model demonstrates LayerZero Power Systems' commitment to providing data centers with the most reliable power distribution solutions in the world. The company strives to deliver a best-in-class experience, and the eOSI Model exemplifies its contribution to continuous innovation and technological advancement within the data center industry.

LayerZero Power Systems has introduced a wide range of power reliability technologies to the data center industry, including Triple Modular Redundant Static Transfer Switches, the finger-safe SafePanel™ Panel Board, and the patented Dynamic Phase Compensation technology. These products are designed to maximize power reliability in data centers while ensuring operator safety, power quality monitoring, and open connectivity.
