ePanel-HD Remote Power Panel Released
LayerZero Power Systems, LLC. today announced the release of the Series 70: ePanel-HD High-Density Remote Power Panel, engineered to deliver maximum power reliability to high-density zones within mission-critical data center environments.
As high-density power distribution has become increasingly common, data centers face new challenges related to selective trip coordination, space efficiency, and operator safety. The Series 70 ePanel-HD is designed to address these challenges while maintaining LayerZero’s hallmark reliability.
The ePanel-HD provides safe, high-density power distribution in a compact footprint, supporting up to two high-density SafePanel™ panelboards within a small two-tile configuration. This design allows facilities to maximize available floor space without compromising reliability or safety.
Maximizing Power Reliability in High-Density Environments
To support the growing power demands of modern server racks, the Series 70 ePanel-HD delivers high-density power distribution using a fully convection-cooled design. The unit requires no fans or external cooling systems, reducing maintenance requirements and eliminating nuisance fan alarms.
Built for long-term durability, the ePanel-HD features insulated buswork, silver-plated terminals, and high-reliability compression-style connections. Power and control cabling can be installed from either the top or bottom of the enclosure, providing flexibility during installation.
Providing Safe Power Distribution
The ePanel-HD incorporates LayerZero’s finger-safe SafePanel™ technology, enabling facilities to expand power capacity while maximizing operator safety. Inspired by the safety recommendations of NFPA-70E, the Series 70 ePanel-HD is designed to be safe to operate and maintain throughout its service life.
Featuring InSight IR™ portholes and front- and side-only access, all bolted connections can be thermally scanned with the deadfront closed and tightened without requiring rear access. The SafePanel™ design includes IP-20 rated finger-safe recessed connection wells, helping ensure safe installation of additional circuit breakers. Configuration can be completed wirelessly using Bluetooth, further enhancing operator safety.
Advanced Power Quality Monitoring
The Series 70 ePanel-HD provides real-time waveform capture for every pole and every circuit. Waveforms may be triggered manually or automatically by power events and are captured simultaneously, then made remotely available through the unit’s built-in web server.
These waveform capture capabilities enable operators to analyze the root cause of power events, supporting faster diagnostics and improved power reliability.
Connectivity to Open Protocols
Designed for long-term integration, the ePanel-HD supports connectivity to open communication protocols, ensuring compatibility with building management and monitoring systems throughout the product’s lifecycle. Supported protocols include Modbus, SNMP, TCP/IP, NTP time synchronization, and Bluetooth.
Bluetooth connectivity allows technicians to complete circuit breaker installation and configuration directly at the point of impact. A color touchscreen graphical user interface is accessible from the front of the unit, simplifying operation and monitoring.
